Anatolii Nazarenko

React Native & Expo Developer

anatolii nazarenko

I ship mobile apps that launch fast, feel native, and survive the App Store review on the first try.

About

I build mobile products end to end with React Native and Expo — from the first Expo Router screen to the signed build sitting in App Store Connect. Seven years in frontend, the last five almost entirely on mobile.

Most teams reach me when an app already exists and hurts: cold starts measured in seconds, a release process nobody trusts, a list that stutters on anything older than last year's flagship. I make those numbers move, then leave behind a codebase the in-house team can keep pushing without me.

I work in small, direct engagements. You get one senior developer who writes the code, owns the release pipeline, and tells you plainly what is and is not worth building.

Career path

  1. Aug 2025 — Jun 2026

    React Native Developer

Monstra Tech · Miami, US — Remote

Cross-platform product work in React Native and TypeScript, taking features from design and estimate all the way to a release on the App Store and Google Play.

    • Built native home-screen widgets and custom Swift and Kotlin modules whenever a feature outgrew the JavaScript layer
    • Integrated REST APIs and third-party SDKs for auth, payments and analytics, with caching, offline states and error handling
    • Profiled and debugged the app to fix performance and stability issues, improving list rendering and startup time
    • Worked in an Agile team: planning, daily syncs, code review, and close collaboration with designers and back-end engineers
  2. Jun 2022 — Aug 2025

    React Native Developer

    ADev · Kharkiv, Ukraine

Several production apps in React Native at once, split between shipping new features and keeping the ones already in users' hands healthy.

    • Set up and maintained Redux and Redux Toolkit state, keeping the data layer predictable as the projects grew
    • Wrote native modules and widgets for work the JS layer could not reach, plus navigation, forms and API integrations
    • Built shared UI components reused across projects, which kept the codebase consistent and delivery quick
    • Mentored and onboarded junior developers — code review, walking them through the codebase, holding a common style
  3. Jun 2019 — May 2022

    Front-End Developer

    Anuitex · Kharkiv, Ukraine

Responsive web interfaces built from design, in React, Vue or Angular depending on what the project already ran on.

    • Turned mockups into clean, accessible pages that held up across browsers and screen sizes
    • Wired the front end to the back end over REST APIs, handling data fetching and client-side rendering
    • Worked directly with designers, and kept shared components reusable instead of rebuilt per feature
  4. May 2018 — May 2019

    Markup Developer

    Anuitex · Kharkiv, Ukraine

Where it started: turning design mockups into semantic HTML and CSS that behaved the same in every browser, not just the one on my desk.

    • Delivered pixel-accurate markup with correct cross-browser behaviour
    • Built reusable markup blocks and layout patterns the team kept using long after

Projects

Products I built end to end — the app, the integrations it depends on, and the admin panel someone has to run it from.

  • Multi-restaurant ordering platform

    Lead developer

A restaurant group's ordering app, built from an empty repository. The hard part was the POS: orders placed in the app land directly in SoftRestaurant, and kitchen status flows back to the customer without anyone retyping a ticket. I also built the React admin panel the staff live in — orders, customers, delivery, and product availability in one place.

Fourteen months on the platform: iOS, Android and the admin panel the floor runs on.

  • Three fitness apps

    Mobile developer

Three separate training products, each taken from Figma to the stores with the full feature set: a custom workout builder, progress tracking that actually holds history, and community chat. Each one reads and writes real health data — Apple Health on iOS, Health Connect on Android — so a workout logged in the app counts everywhere else on the phone.

Three products shipped on one hard-won foundation: workouts, progress and community.

    • React Native
    • TypeScript
    • REST API
    • Apple HealthKit
    • Health Connect
    • Figma
  • Nutrition & macro tracking app

    Lead developer

Food logging on top of the FatSecret database, with macro maths that stay correct across servings, units and custom meals. On iOS I wrote native home-screen widgets in Swift, so the day's remaining macros are readable without opening the app, and added AI recipe generation that suggests meals fitting what is left of the budget.

The day's macros sit on the home screen — no app launch required.

  • Childcare marketplace

    Lead developer

A two-sided marketplace where parents find sitters and sitters find work — the same app, two very different jobs to do. Trust is the whole product, so identity runs through Sumsub KYC before anyone can be booked, backed by ratings, direct messages, and an Instagram-style follow graph on a Firebase backend.

Every sitter is identity-verified before a parent can message them.

    Mobile developer

One of my first mobile projects: the app and the accompanying website, both on Ionic and Angular. Hybrid was the honest choice at the time, and shipping it taught me exactly where a webview stops being enough — which is most of why I work in React Native now.

App and site shipped from a single Ionic codebase, early in my mobile career.

    Clients worked with

  • Anatoliy is a Rockstar, worked with him on for 14 months on a complicated iOS/Android mobile app with payment and POS integrations, and a cloud hosted web application admin panel. Anatoliy was attentive, thorough, patient and hardworking. I would highly recommend him and be happy to work with him again.
